Aeropress
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Aeropress
Paper Aeropress filter or re-usable metal filter
Fresh coffee beans
Grinder
Measuring
Scales
Timer
Filtered water
Stirring device
METHOD
1) Measure and grind. 15-17 grams of ground coffee is ideal. Grind your coffee beans to the consistency of table salt. Boil your kettle.
2) Prep the Aeropress by standing it 'upside down' on its plunger onto your scales. The two parts should be connected so that the whole thing is stable whilst maximising room inside the brew chamber. The rubber part needs to be level with No.4. Also prep the filter paper by rinsing it with hot water to remove any papery taste.
3) Start your timer when you brew hot water. Saturate all the grounds within 10 seconds and stir for 20 seconds. After 30 seconds, add the rest of the water until you get 240 grams on your scale.
4) Screw on the cap and push down a bit to release any air and create a bit of a pressure seal.
5) At 1 minute 10 seconds flip the Aeropress upside down on and onto your mug.
6) After 15 seconds steadily plunge the coffee into the cup and stop before hearing a hissing sound. The whole process should take about 2 minutes.
7) Your coffee is now ready to enjoy and your Aeropress ready to clean by popping of the basket and releasing the coffee grounds and filter, ready for your next brew.
